THE ROLE:

As a server PCIe system debug engineer you will work with internal validation and customer teams to get PCIe issues resolved in time. In this role you will work with validation engineers, designers and architects in the next generation of AMD’s flagship CPU server products.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Debug and root cause determination of improper or inconsistent operation of PCIE in PC systems.
  • Manage and track technical issues, risks and priorities.
  • Software tool development to support the debug and test simplification and automation
  • Improve PCIE debug capabilities and methodologies over time by identifying common challenges or impediments to efficient debug and working with partner organizations to drive innovation in tools and methods.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years or more of experience debugging PC Post-silicon issues.
  • Hands one experience in debugging/validating PCIe protocol (Gen3, Gen4, Gen5)
  • System level debugging skills that enable the root causing of potential issues at the operating system level.
  • Must excel in a dynamic team working environment.
  • Experience in programming and/or scripting languages (E.g. C++, Perl, Python, Shell).
  • Use of tools such as Jtag debuggers, logic analyzers and PCIe bus analyzers.
  • System Verilog and emulation knowledge is desired.
  • Knowledge of Windows Internals, Kernel mode driver programming, Operating Systems & Applications is desired.

 

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related major with 5+ years of applicable experience.
