This opportunity reports to our People & Culture Business Partner who supports our global functions of Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality and Ethical Trade, based in our Islip depot, Northamptonshire.
The People & Culture mission is to create an amazing experience for our colleagues. The aim of a People & Culture Business Partner (P&C BP) is to drive this experience within specific client groups. Aligning the P&C Strategy with business priorities is key to driving commercial results. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business the P&C BP is responsible for coaching leaders to develop performance of our colleagues.
Responsibilities: People Strategy
Drive the P&C Strategy, ensuring People and Culture plans are aligned with business culture that is transitioning from ABF to Primark accountability
Work with your client group colleagues, ABF HR function and line managers to design and deliver the people and cultural plan that it is relevant to a function that covers 10 countries and is likely to expand to more.
Share strategies with other People and Culture Business Partners and HR partners across ABF to create best practice and leverage organisational gains.
Develop external networks that allow leading edge P&C knowledge and ideas to be shared in the business
Support the delivery of organisational change and act as a champion for change in business projects
Execute projects with a high degree of complexity, including organisational redesign and other initiatives
Partnership
Develop trusted and strong relationships across the Primark & ABF businesses
Coach and develop line managers, building their skills and confidence to successfully lead their people and thoroughly understand employee engagement levels and dynamics within the business and actively drive the P&C Strategy across all markets
Build and maintain effective working relationships with your client group, Primark People and Culture Business Partner colleagues and Primark COEs
Provide advice to client group on complex matters, including TUPE and ethical employment practices
Address and manage employee relations matters, working to resolve them through a systematic approach and adhering to company policies, local employment laws, and best practices.
Support the ethical trade function prepare submissions supporting our business accreditations
Talent Development
Work closely with BPs to prepare and coordinate the annual performance management process Make Your Primark for your client groups
Coach Business Leaders to cultivate an effective leadership pipeline through Make Your Primark
Support Leaders and Line Managers in assessing performance and potential through the bi-annual talent review process to enable career development and succession planning activities
Provide insightful data and proactive solutions to guide decision making for thought-leadership
Support our global mobility team manage relocations, visa applications etc to support international development
Support and enhance manager capabilities through coaching and implementation of management development programs and opportunities
Identify training needs, in conjunction with line managers, and work with your BP and the Learning COE to develop appropriate solutions
Requirements Technical Criteria
3+ years experience working in a fast paced International / Global HR team is essential
Executed strategic projects effectively
Experience of working in partnership with leaders and colleagues across multiple locations, and with English as their second language, and with multiple time zones.
Experience in coaching & influencing Leaders on complex ER matters
Third level qualification in HR or a business related discipline
CIPD qualified or equivalent from outside of UK and ROI is an advantage
Good working knowledge of Irish and UK employment legislation (including GDPR) is essential with knowledge of wider European legislation and global HR practices and principles extremely helpful.
The role is based in the UK, however frequent travel (long and short haul) should be anticipated
