What you will be doing

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the submission, validation, and reconciliation of biweekly payroll. Handles a large volume of highly sensitive, payroll and tax-related information in an accurate, expedited and confidential manner for a specific group or groups of Innomar associates.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compiles, prepares, processes and inputs payroll information in order to produce timely and accurate pay for 3,000+ associates.

  • Ensures integrity, consistency, and reliability with data in the system by inputting data accurately and completely.

  • Monitor, review and respond to all payroll-related inquiries from Innomar associates from our Payroll email mailbox

  • Properly administers all payroll-related functions in compliance with standard operating procedures.

  • Prepares manual checks that are handled outside of the regular payroll cycle; maintains proper documentation.

  • Issue ROE’s for separation of employment within required deadlines.

  • May handle wage garnishments for associates within his/her payroll group.

  • Provides timesheet support for hourly workers and exception hours for salaried workers.

  • Responsible for maintaining a high-degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, salary data and associate benefits information.

  • Researches issues and promptly resolves associate requests and inquiries.

  • Ensures payroll is processed in time for centralized processing, contributing to a successful payroll every other week.

  • Interacts closely with other departments within Human Resources and Finance in order to complete necessary paperwork required for payroll processing.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

What your background should look like 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of hands on experience in full cycle payroll processing including time and attendance tracking

  • Post-secondary Education with a focus on Administration and or Accounting preferred

  • Canadian Payroll Association - PCP designation is an asset.

  • General knowledge of Canadian employment law, payroll legislation and accounting principles

  • Experience with and or working knowledge of Workday an asset

  • Experience working with multiple Province payroll

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good understanding of payroll processing software programs, preferably Workday

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail

  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, always meeting deadlines
