Robert Half seeks a Payroll Administrator to help process payroll with proficiency. What you get to do every day:

  • Exercise of proper data management by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
  • Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
  • Help payroll manage all internal and external audits
  • Exercise review and verification of source documents
  • Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis
  • Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed
  • Handle all payroll information questions and requests
  • Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures
  • Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential
  • Put together summaries of employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to calculate all payroll liabilities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll experience
  • Meet and uphold Certified Payroll Professional criteria
  • Prior experience working with collections/accounting software
  • Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
  • Experience with high volume data entry
  • Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
  • Expertise with internal controls
  • Proven knowledge and experience processing bi-weekly Payroll for over 500 employees
  • Practical knowledge of PeopleSoft
  • Expertise in Union Dues
  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
