Description

Our Edmonton-based client is looking for their next Payroll and Benefits Administrator! This position is part-time, permanent, and working in-office. The organization is seeking individuals who may be interested in a job-share with another Payroll and Benefits Administrator, offering flexibility and work-life balance.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in the office, would like to work less than 30 hours per week, and has at least three years of experience in payroll administration!

Role responsibilities:

  • Preparation, documentation, and disbursement of bi-weekly payroll
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and company policies
  • Collecting & reviewing timesheets, maintaining employee records
  • Responding to payroll inquiries
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Calculating overtime, vacation, taxable benefits, and special payments
  • External reporting: ROE, T4, WCB
  • Internal reporting and analysis as needed
  • Benefits administration
  • Ad-hoc reporting, reconciliations & other finance department tasks as required

Requirements

Skills, education and experience we are looking for:

  • 3+ years experience of full-cycle Canadian Payroll
  • 2+ years experience working in a project-based or job costing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to process payroll for 300+ employees
  • Advanced Excel skills including the ability to manipulate large data files, created and manipulate pivot tables an utilize a variety of excel features to analyze data and solve problems

Nice-to-have:

  • Payroll certification in Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM)
  • Experience with MS Dynamics GP
  • A background in construction or oilfield industry
