Job Description

Main Duties:

Provide direction and support to the catering team through engagement, motivation, discipline, safety and general welfare.

Develop good working practices and relationships to support staff.

Provide initial line of escalation both for customers and staff for all cleaning related queries.

Ensure that all point of sale and is always available for both staff and visitors. Including but not limited to allergen information.

Take responsibility for development and maintenance of expectations related to all people management as well as the onsite process including absence, time keeping, retention, productivity, quality of work, uniform and appearance standards, behaviour and attitude.

Identify, and resolve operational issues in the absence of that Assistant Catering Manager.

Support the Assistant Catering Manager and prevent issues from arising by identifying the trends and service requirements.

Enthusiastically support, actively promote, and demonstrate excellent customer service in accordance with the company standards.

Be responsible for overall day to day operations of the catering front of house team in the absence of the assistant Catering Manager. 

Work towards and meet targets set by the Catering Manager.

Ensure that all HACCP processes are completed.

Attend training and/or meetings as required by your line manager.

Manage the health, safety and welfare of the catering staff.

Cover or support all OCS business activities as reasonably requested by your line manager.

Co-ordinate with the Management to ensuring contractual specifications are met.

Participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and support.  

Acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety and standards.

Take responsibility for ensuring that equipment is maintained and fit for purpose. 


To be successful in the role, you will need:

GCSE level grade Cor above or equivalent

Food Safety Level 3

Good understanding of Microsoft Office package

Experience in a similar role
