Department Overview 

We are seeking an enthusiastic PA to provide dedicated secretarial support to the CBDC and Fintech Hub senior management team, including cover for the CBDC Director PA as required. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA looking to broaden their skill base and gain exposure within an interesting and busy area.   

The jobholder will need to have experience of diary management and be well organised, a good communicator, comfortable liaising at all levels, flexible and able to work effectively within a team.

The Fintech Hub leads the Bank’s strategy and work programme on fintech, in collaboration with colleagues across the Bank. Fintech and technological innovation has the potential to make finance more effective, resilient and inclusive.  The Bank’s fintech strategy focuses on how to embrace fintech in support of the Bank’s mission., including supporting the safe deployment of new technologies; enabling payments for a digital age; and influencing the interaction between finance and the digital economy. 

The CBDC Directorate is responsible for driving the Bank-wide CBDC strategy.  CBDC has the potential to positively shape the future of finance. If this potential is harnessed in the right way, it could make finance more effective, resilient and inclusive. Therefore, embracing and applying CBDC to further the Bank’s Mission is one of the Bank’s strategic priorities.

Job Description 

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Bank’s agenda on CBDC. We are looking for someone who will:

 

  • Provide full secretarial support to the CBDC & Fintech senior management team
  • Provide diary management support, arrange meetings appropriately to effectively maximise use of time, resolve clashes and use own judgement as to which meetings take priority.
  • Arrange meetings with internal and external stakeholders including regular bilateral and team meetings, preparing agendas and background papers for regular meetings
  • Use OneNote to import calendar appointments, ensuring meeting papers are collated and available for review
  • Monitor manager’s emails for actions, support tracking of team deliverables
  • Support the team’s domestic and foreign travel commitments, managing travel bookings and completion of expenses claims, assisting with co-ordination of programmes for external visits.
  • Provide adhoc PA and admin support to the CBDC and Fintech Hub teams
  • Provide cover for the CBDC Director PA.

The CBDC Directorate is an expanding, agile team, driving the Bank-wide CBDC strategy across the institution.  The Fintech Hub is a small team leading the Bank’s fintech strategy and work programme. Both teams embrace inclusive and agile ways of working and pride ourselves on offering an exciting, challenging and fun place to work.

We use a ‘Hub and Spokes’ model, and adopt innovative an agile ways of working, so you will have opportunity to collaborate with every area of the Bank. The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and supportive in assisting the team in delivering its responsibilities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Diary and inbox management, including: dealing with and keeping on top of actions; arranging internal/external meetings; and compiling associated papers
  • Be proactive, a self-starter and able to use your own initiative with a keen eye for an attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to build good working relationships across diverse internal teams and be able to work across boundaries.
  • Enthusiasm, flexibility and reliability. Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, reliable with a \'can do \'attitude with the willingness to take on new challenges and cover other PA roles.
  • Display good communication skills, including ability to respond professionally to emails with the team’s contacts and stakeholders
  • Ability to organise domestic/foreign travel including completion of expenses
  • Knowledge of IT skills including Outlook, OneNote, Word, Filesite and knowledge of technology platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom etc

This specific role offers a base salary of £22,000-£27,000 per annum (depending n skills and experience), along with our comprehensive benefits package as follows:

•    A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
•    A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
•    A 7% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
•    25 days annual leave with option to buy up to 13 additional days through flexible benefits.
•    Private medical insurance and income protection.
