​Introduction:

Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking to recruit a financial analyst for Overhead & Rates within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. The role is responsible for the management of the Overhead Pools within BDUK and ensuring that the monthly burden application in respect of these pools is tracked against the company budget/forecast. As part of fulfilling the role, monthly variance analysis for the BDUK Overhead Pools including cumulative recovery positions for both Tier 1 Overhead and Tier 2 G&A will be collated and distributed to both Finance management and the wider BDUK Leadership team. The role will work closely with the various BDUK Functional areas to ensure accurate forecasting, management and reporting of variance to forecast/budget. The role also has responsibility for the annual audit of actual recovery and forecasted recovery rates with our key MoD customer and in that respect has an external customer facing role for periods of the audit.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate as a Business partner to the key functional areas of the BDUK business, supporting with the collation of Overhead labour and opex monthly forecasts, tracking of actuals against forecast and budget and supporting with variance analysis to understand key drivers of deviations to both forecast and budget
  • Production of the monthly ‘Waterfall’ reports detailing status on overhead and G&A recovery, variations to budget in labour base and forecasted year end overhead and G&A rates
  • Assisting with the quarterly update to BDUK Overhead & G&A Rates
  • Support to the Month End Close Cycle, including the processing of Overhead/G&A related journal entries, managing the interface of the Time Reporting System into the General Ledger/BDUK Programme Ledger, and the distribution of provisional Month End Close numbers to facilitate key validations/checks across the wider Finance team
  • Evaluation of possible Risks and Opportunities to meeting Annual Budgets and provision of recommendations/ input into key business decisions as a result
  • Support consistency and standardization across the wider BDUK Finance team, ensuring compliance to Boeing standards and requirements
  • Interface with the Customer as part of the audit/review of BDUK Rates
  • Important conduit to the Estimating and Pricing team within BDUK to ensure proposed work is priced in a profitable manner consistent with the correct burden application methodology
