It will also contribute to our aim to be more visible and better understood outside of London and the South East.

Our outreach events team supports some of our high-profile events, such as the technical briefing of our quarterly Monetary Policy Report. Our public engagement activities include a range of tailored programmes. Our Citizens’ Forum is a way for the Bank to engage directly with members of the public through forums across the UK. Our Community Forums are developed with third sector organisations to ensure that the Bank is listening to lesser-heard groups. And our Youth Forum is a body of 16-25 year olds who work on a range of projects with the Bank to ensure we are better connected to the views and experiences of young people.

Specific duties will include:

  • Leading on the organisation of specific events, as agreed with the Outreach Events Adviser, including working closely with private offices, the Agency network and colleagues across Communications;
  • Producing briefing documents for senior Bank staff participating in events;
  • Facilitating the delivery of virtual and physical events;
  • Producing analytical documents to help assess the impact of events/projects;
  • With the Outreach Events Adviser, liaising with British Youth Council officials and Youth Forum members regarding the Youth Forum;
  • Providing administrative support for the Citizens’ Forums, as agreed with the Outreach Officer;
  • Maintaining databases of information relating to outreach programmes and other projects;

  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills;
  • Experience in running and coordinating online and in person events;
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and balancing multiple priorities;
  • Ability to attend events (virtually and in person) across the UK, including evenings.

Experience with organising virtual events using a range of platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Live.

The Bank values diversity and inclusion – we want to reflect the society we serve better, we want the best people to work for us and we want our workplace to be inclusive.  We value all forms of diversity, including but not limited to age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religion and sexual orientation.  One way we support diversity and inclusion is through our staff-run networks, which are summarised here.

We are fully committed to having a diverse and inclusive working environment, and are open to considering how the role might be carried out with flexible working.  This role is therefore open to flexible working patterns.

We are also committed to making adjustments for candidates and employees where possible, and have partnered with external expert organisations to support us in this.  We are a member of the Disability Confident scheme, summarised here, and people who wish to apply under this scheme should check the box in the ‘Candidate Personal Information’ under the ‘Disability Confident Scheme’ section of the application.
