Responsibilities
The O&T Transformation - Regional Engagement Lead is a strategic professional who partners with our regional (EMEA, APAC, LATAM & NAM) & sector (Institutional Clients Group (ICG), Global Consumer Banking (GCB) and Enterprise O&T (EO&T)) O&T colleagues to provide oversight on our transformation deliverables. They have a solid understanding of the business/product landscape & can connect the dots to assess impacts of operations and technology changes relative to business processes. Excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate internally, often across senior levels. Diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasionally external constituents.
The person in this role must be able to drive significant change while ensuring that risks and issues are being managed following best program/project management practices. They should be tech savvy & able to understand complex business processes across various lines of Citi's businesses. While the role will be focused on engaging directly with EMEA & APAC regional stakeholders at Citi, there may be a need to liaise with multiple regions at times. Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to ramp up on varying business processes will be key to meet this need.
Responsibilities:
- Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed including developing & assessing detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to the regional teams focused on executing transformational initiatives while also challenging these teams, when necessary. Helps solve complex problems, exercises discretion & latitude in helping teams reach critical goals.
- Possesses an understanding of client core business functions. Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within technology to achieve technology objectives.
- Exercises influence over team budget, policy formulation and planning.
- Provides a horizontal view/analysis of operations and technology book of work from a regional/line of business lens.
- Has significant business impact through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes and industry standards.
- Provides expertise in projects managed and demonstrates an advanced level of understanding of the principles of IT project leadership.
- Directly impacts the business through contribution to technical direction and strategic decisions for IT Project Leadership.
- Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
- Displays empathy for execution-focused project managers and aims to drive simplification in mechanisms used for oversight, analysis & KPIs.
- Actively promotes equity and inclusivity in the workplace.
- Responsible for resource management and allocation of work; acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
- Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in a related technology role and subject matter expert in overall field
- Strong technology discipline in SDLC, Cloud, Architecture, and other areas
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and coaching of other employees
- Hands-on experience with project management tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Project, etc.
- Related certifications (PMP, SAFE or similar) preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
