About this role

This role is about supporting Technology units (Digital and Networks) simplify how teams are structured and work together.
You will design and deliver specific OD projects that are key enablers for Digital and/or Networks moving towards it target operating model. This is part of moving towards a One BT way of working.
You will be accountable from problem definition, case for change through design process to completion demonstrating a specialist level of expertise in organisation design working with senior stakeholders (CEO’s, MDs and their DR’s).
You'll have the following responsibilities
• Accountable for leading and delivering organisation design projects within Digital and/or Networks as part of or as part of the overall One BT operating model
• Provide organisation design expertise and coaching to senior business leaders and HR leaders
• Applies deep specialist knowledge to provide advise, interpretation and guidance on organisation design practices and processes
• Applies deep specialist knowledge on Agile practices and methodology
• Challenges the business, leading specialist service provision on organisation design (through projects contracted with each HRD/People transformation directors)
• Act as a Specialist expert, interfacing with HR Business Partners, other HR centres of expertise, business stakeholders and representation of BT with external parties applying external best practice
• Leads regular/ ad hoc activities to review best practice and industry standards
• Builds understanding, skill-sets and competencies in specialism within the HR and Line Manager communities
You'll have the following skills & experience
This role is a recognised specialist in business analytics and data science, and will likely have experience as a change leader in a large organisation, or as a leader in a specialist analytics team in a consultancy:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate ‘data speak’ for the benefit of business and HR stakeholders
• Management consulting experience: direct experience within management consultancy preferred but not mandatory
• HR domain experience: direct experience within HR preferred but not mandatory
• Organisation design expertise –expert in organisation design. Acknowledged across the business as an expert in OD or change management (and outside BT) to ensure credibility as part of a Transformation team.
• Story-telling/Communication: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and building a shared understanding of the logical options available to solve the business problems
• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
• Experience of Technology industries/functions is desirable - understanding and how competitive differentiation is achieved in large organisations, media and IT solutions including the key roles and accountabilities required from marketing, product, sales/service and technology work together
• Excellent analytical reasoning: identify problems and develop hypotheses
• Agile methodology: understanding agile ways of working and how to implement them in an organisation.
