BBC Scotland offers an unrivalled reputation for production and programme making in Scotland.  We now have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Executive to join our Operations & Engineering team supporting our production teams across Scotland, providing them with highly skilled crews and first class facilities. 

The role is responsible for leading and driving television operational services across Scotland to enable programme makers to fulfil their creative ambitions.

Role Responsibility

This is a crucial people role in BBC Scotland Operations, responsible for leading and managing highly skilled and creative teams to deliver quality technical services across all BBC platforms. The role will work with production, editorial and engineering teams to enable programme makers to fulfil their creative ambitions, whilst ensuring the solution is cost effective and delivers value to our audiences.This role is pivotal in promoting a creative, diverse and inclusive culture which is conducive to attracting, retaining and developing the best craft talent.

As part of the Operations Management team this role will contribute to setting and delivering strategic and business objectives for BBC Scotland and will have responsibility, alongside the management team, for making decisions required to manage the financial and operational performance of the department. 

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who has proven knowledge and experience of:

Leadership in Broadcasting, Production or Engineering.

Developing, leading and managing the performance of teams.

Legislation, regulatory and health and safety framework within the broadcasting industry.

HR issues, policy and Employment legislation.

Financial, organisational and planning skills.
