This is a fantastic opportunity to join this dynamic part of the business where grocery online has doubled in size over the past 12-24 months and the checkout experience for customers is changing fast. You will have a high level of ownership and autonomy to make a difference, working cross functionally with tech, retail and marketing colleagues to implement projects across all customer fulfilment and checkout channels, that will step change the customer and colleague experience.

 

The Development Manager will be responsible for planning and delivering a series of new operational initiatives and back-end capability for our Digital Operations, including Groceries Online and the in-store Check Out experience. We are seeking to enhance our customer proposition significantly and at pace as well as making sure we have the right operational processes and systems/tools to enable us to do this.

 

To be successful in this role you must have experience managing end-to-end delivery of change projects and a working knowledge of Retail/eCommerce operations and technology.

 

More about the role: 

  • Manage complex end-to-end project delivery, ensuring projects are on time, within scope and to budget
  • Co-ordinate qualitative and quantitative analyses to draw insights, product cases develop solutions and measure results to support divisional objects
  • Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies, proactively intervening to remove roadblocks
  • Lead cross-functional work to identify, design and deliver process improvements/new processes that make it simpler for colleagues and customers
  • Lead and facilitate business process design activity, developing a detailed understanding of specific business areas and relevant processes (existing and new)
  • Collaborate with Digital Product team on technology impacted by projects
  • Develop propositions in line with channel business plans – delivering material customer benefit as well as bottom-line enhancement
