We have an exciting opportunity for a professional and talented Operational Risk Analyst.

Operational Risk Analyst 

Reporting to the Operational Risk Manager, there is an exciting opportunity for a professional Operational Risk Officer and Business within the Alphabet and BMW Financial Services Risk function. Alphabet’s Risk function (AL-UK-R) provides high-quality operational risk advice and guidance across all of Alphabet’s and BMW Financial Services products, services and processes and will be responsible for supporting an effective and independent Operational Risk Culture and Governance. Also assisting in providing an effective Business Continuity Programme.

This role will play a pivotal part in our success.  In this role you will be responsible for:

• Providing operational risk guidance and governance for operational risk and risk events including the governance of action plans
• Monitor and record identified risks and loss data collection (incidents).
• Maintain Operational Risk Suite and review ongoing risks through the Risk Self-Assessment (RSA) and Company Control Assessments (CCA).
• Responsible for maintaining reporting, including a Heat Map of known Operational Risks to demonstrate adequacy of internal (and where necessary external) control and Operational Risk Management are congruent with regulatory requirements, e.g. “Operational Resilience”.
• Assisting with the identification and management of key risk indicators linked to key controls, leading and lagging to be identified.
• Assisting with regular operational risk communications to the Alphabet employees to raise and maintain awareness of Operational Risk Culture, creating and increasing awareness for Operational Risk
• Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of a Business Continuity Plan and Vendor Management including outsourcing governance (Process/Controls) and Supplier Business continuity

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Operational Risk Management and Operational Risk Frameworks.
• Knowledge of consumer and product laws relevant to the automotive sector a positive.
• Knowledge of FCA, Operational Risk & frameworks, compliance related matters.
• Strong verbal/written communication (including report writing).
• Able to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills including ability to swiftly identify issues, deliver appropriate challenge and recommend fit for purpose solutions.
• Able to work on own initiative and identify opportunities to enhance the reputation of Operational Risk and embed a risk culture.
• Strong team player with the ability and desire to lead, develop and support others.
