Job Description

The Role

 Being appointed into this position, you will be required to complete the following roles to ensure the smooth running’s and operations on site. These include: 

 

  • Monitor plant condition, identifying & resolving sub-standard condition through work requests, performing minor tool pouch maintenance and reporting civil defects through the helpdesk processes
  • Respond to requests from the control room to investigate plant alarms and perform required operations
  • Control and closely monitor plant and equipment to support the process by following procedures
  • Apply conservative decision-making techniques and work effectively within a team environment
  • Show a solid understanding of plant operation, design and theory (comprehensive training will be provided)
  • Investigate and rectify plant faults within your own area of demonstrated competence
  • Carry out minor maintenance and health physics monitoring as required by the process

The Skills

As the next Operate Technician, you will hold the following skills and experiences to be suitable for the role: 

 

  • Previous experience working in a heavy process environment in Operations or Engineering role with supporting qualifications.
  • Good level of computer literacy i.e. able to use Word, Excel and bespoke systems.
  • Strong understanding of general literacy i.e. able to read and follow written process instructions and complete paperwork accurately
  • A flexible approach to work/duties and willing to undertake necessary training programme.
  • Able to work as part of a small team and cross functionally with other departments. 

As a minimum, entrants will be educated to GCSE/National Qualifications standards (or equivalent).  

Competitive Salary & Benefits

 

The salary range is between £33,056 - £41,118, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Company Agreement.  The starting salary for this appointment will be dependent of your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.  You will receive 28 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, incremental and competency-based progression and a Company pension scheme.
