Job Description

The OIA Team forms part of the wider Government Services Team. The OIA team develop and own systems to support all of DOC with managing OIAs and ensuring appropriate engagement around information releases across DOC and with external parties, including the Minister.  

In this role you'll provide advice and trouble-shoot on matters that are particularly sensitive or complex, especially those that involve ethics and public service standards.  You will also get exposure to briefing the Senior Leadership Team and providing strategic advice.

If you have the following attributes and experience, we are keen to hear from you:

  • At least 2+ years' experience in an OIA or Ministerial environment
  • Experienced developing and presenting metrics to a broad audience
  • Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience of using a workflow management tool
  • Effective and persuasive communicator both written and oral
  • Strong team player

Please note, this position will be Wellington based.

Working closely alongside our legal and media teams, you will utilise your keen risk radar, strong attention to detail and listening skills to ensure consistent and accurate advice is given.
