Shift(s) Available: Night
Principal Accountabilities:
Gentle and correct handling of eggs, embryos and chicks
Thorough understanding of Animal Welfare
Will complete necessary paperwork
Fluff Sampling
Meconium Sampling
Hatch Window Checks
Thorough knowledge of chick quality and culling accuracy
Take chick vent temperatures
May be involved with sampling at various stages of development
Able to read and recognize variability in production and other hatchery data
Make decisions relative to equipment settings and hatch timing
Other duties as assigned by the FSQR Lead or Hatchery Manager
Capable of identifying deviations and various aspects of the HACCP system related to chick
quality
Will monitoring hatchery/production factors that contribute to contamination (biological and chemical)
Ensures sanitation procedures in the Hatchery are completed in accordance with HACCP protocols and policies
Will ensure HACCP forms and documentation is updated on a daily basis
Basic Requirements:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Must be 18 years or older
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 40lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
Basic use of a computer
Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays with advance notice
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
High School Diploma
