About this role
The Authentication Specialist is a key member of the Network Services team who underpin a suite of critical services that keep the company's employees, systems and even customers operating 24x7. From authentication of users and their devices through systems access including privileged access through to DHCP, DNS and IP management to name but a few key functions.
Working closely with others parts of BT to create and maintain robust security policies for these systems.
Using your knowledge and experience to define and exceed existing standards
Planning migration of well over 50,000 devices to refreshed new platforms just one of the many things you'll be involved in
You'll have the following responsibilities
Responsible for the design and development of discreet solutions in line with wider architecture and security standards, demonstrating understanding of how solution impacts the wider Technology roadmap.
Identifies and solves routine problems with components designed, performs deep dive data analysis, potentially introducing new components or features to resolve issues.
Responsible for the design and development components of smaller and /or less complex projects in partnership with team, ensuring and documenting the quality of delivery.
Conducts technical peer reviews within the organisation or with suppliers to ensure outputs align to quality standards and customer requirements.
Design and deployment of new strategic authentication environments and maintaining roadmap in-line with the future plans of the key business stakeholders
Provide real time technical support during live production incidents to the operational support teams from across the business
Working out of hours to support business needs and protect service together with being part of the rota team for on-call support.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Design of secure network authentication and support for Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
In depth knowledge of TACACS and RADIUS protocol
Experience supporting remote dedicated Authentication Services
Experience in One Time Password platforms
Experience of Windows Server - Network Policy Server
Supporting enhanced radius encryption technologies (EAP-PEAP, EAP-TLS)
Good level of experience for developing code for automation, reporting, auditing and administration
Experience supporting large scale deployments of multi-tenant hosted authentication services
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
Networking Protocols (IP/DHCP/DNS)
Experience of Data Analysis tools using Kibana, splunk or other Big Data tools
