About this role
In Technology our aim is to create brilliant, converged services over the best network and they’ll be personal, simple and brilliant to use. Being part of the Data Centre Team in BT Networks, the role holder plays a big part in this. BT’s core business traverses our Network and Firewall devices – we need to make sure our Network is up, accessible and functioning correctly 24/7 to meet the expectation of our customers.
You'll have the following responsibilities
• Embrace Service Excellence to provide effective leadership across area of responsibility.
• Transformation – Accountable for implementing a culture of Continuous Service Improvement across area of responsibility and pan BT where applicable.
• Accountable for Operational Service Delivery.
• Proactive risk management – identify issues and take personal action to mitigate the risk.
• Reactive incident management – take personal action to act with a sense of urgency to minimise business impact with clear stakeholder communication throughout.
• Responsible for ensuring any loss of service is restored within SLA following an infrastructure incident and completion of a comprehensive fault investigation to prevent reoccurrence.
• Join the Call-Out Rota and be part of the team that provides On-Call out-of-hours support.
You'll have the following skills & experience
• Excellent Fault finding across the Network Security estate.
• Network & Security experience in an operational environment.
• Good management experience in a large IT Security Role.
• Professional accreditation level of IP Cyber security and IP networking essentials.
• Technical Expert Knowledge of core Network components, including Cisco/Nexus/Pulse Secure and legacy devices across the network.
• Strong knowledge of virtualisation and cloud compute architectures.
• Associate accreditation level of Design skills, to be able to own and deliver complete small solutions to business requirements.
• Good Communication Skills, both written and oral.
• Strong Leadership skills.
• Technical Delivery: Lead and own large complex transformation projects across the network security estate.
• Good working knowledge of LINUX.
