The role holder is responsible for providing effective support and communications relating to all incidents across the operational in-life platform and support tasks. The role holder will act as part of a wider team dealing with all relevant issues and where appropriate under the guidance of the Incident manager.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Responsible for the Management of Network and Network Security systems and access control, the role holder will be expected to use a ticketing system to record all incidents and update any such incident with accurate and timely detail. You'll take responsibility of Incidents to closure and communicate to stakeholders where necessary, whilst demonstrating in-depth technical knowledge and the ability to share these using coaching techniques to support and set direction for their colleagues and the wider team.
You'll:
Monitor in-life platforms and services reacting to any events as required liaising with the customer where required.
Investigating incidents and taking necessary actions to resolve those Incident
Complete fault tickets accurately and with the required detail to produce a summary report.
Create Incident Schedules and liaise with Resource Management to obtain the correct skills to undertake the tasks.
Provide analysis and trending of security log data from a large number of heterogeneous security devices.
Provide threat and vulnerability analysis as well as security advisory services
Monitor Network and Security systems and liaise with other GSS departments with regards to all access requests
Investigate, document, and report on information and emerging trends.
Provide support to the communication of relevant IT security procedure and/or process.
Resolve and take ownership of customer incidents attending Technical and Service management bridge calls as required.
Participate in the drafting of quality technical and incident reports as well as recommendations to the Management Team.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Experience working in a NOC/SOC , with knowledge of NMC Responsibilities
Networking, Windows and Linux knowledge
Experience or desire to learn 1st line incident detection, hunting and response as well as the ability to analyse and manage response activities. Knowledge of various security methodologies and processes, and experience with technical security solutions (SIEM firewall and intrusion detection systems).
Knowledge of Networking TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively, to deliver on agreed deadlines
Proven working experience of Networks / Security Monitoring and hold Qualifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network + ,CompTIA Security +. Ethical Hacker V10.
The ability to obtain and maintain high level security clearance is a pre requisite to this role. This requires residency in the UK for 9 of the last 10 years and being a British Citizen.
