Role Purpose

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join the CBRE EMEA Network team. The team provide 24/7 support for CBRE’s offices and datacenters across the EMEA region.   As a team we work in a hybrid model, 2 days a week in the office and 3 days at home.

Key Responsibilities

As a network engineer, you'll have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining computer networks within CBRE EMEA region.

Your aim is to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for your users.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

•    Design, develop and deploy LAN/WAN network infrastructure

•    Responsible for 2nd level troubleshooting for all Lan/Wan alerts and issues

•    Responsible for maintenance of all monitoring and reporting systems

•    Produce and Maintain documentation related to all systems developed/deployed

•    Perform on-call duty for non-business hours support as per shift assignments

•    Perform administrative tasks pertaining to time entry and status reporting

•    Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)

•    Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations

•    Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability

•    Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

•    Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

•    Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team

Person Specification/Requirements

•    Knowledge on wireless technologies, preferably Cisco Enterprise. WLC, High Density, BYOD, Guest Services. 

•    Experience of packet analysis and monitoring using wireshark.

•    Good working knowledge of L2 and L3 Protocols. 

•    Experience with troubleshooting and configuration of BGP, Route Reflection, OSPF 

•    Knowledge on NAC (Forescout) or similar network access control technology

•    Working knowledge on Palo Alto or similar next generation Firewalls

•    Working knowledge of Cisco Meraki 

•    Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTP, Infoblox 

•    Good understanding of the Cisco Routing and switching portfolio 

•    Undertaking a vendor agnostic approach when designing a new solution to a business requirement.  

•    Good vendor relationship management skills. 

•    Knowledge of F5 Big IP or similar load balancing technology  

•    Knowledge of Cloud/Hybrid Cloud technologies (AWS and Azure) 

•    An understanding of python, RESTCONF, NETCONF 

•    An understanding of Automation/Orchestration and scripting

•    Knowledge of QoS / CoS
