Position Summary:

This position can be based in Belgium/Brussels or UK/Coventry

Job Description
We are seeking a Network Architect Advisor with significant experience on following technologies:

  • Network routing/switching infrastructure and associate components - preferably Cisco.
  • Public/Private network services market – wired and wireless
  • Network Security
  • Voice Engineering, including Contact Center technologies and architectures
  • Wireless 802.11
  • Software Defined Networking (API, Automation, Network Controller, Process Orchestrator)
  • Programming: Python, Go, Script.
  • Network related applications (IPAM, DNS, ISE, ...)

Candidates should as well have a thorough understanding of FedEx operations and related hardware and software technologies. Including but not limited to technologies for HUBs, road, airways, IoT, warehouse automation.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Define network and voice strategies for FedEx Field EU in collaboration with the architects in the team
  • Drive continuous process improvement and data management within the Field Plan-Build-Run teams, with an ITIL mindset
  • Investigate potential future technologies and increased programmability
  • Keep the team executives informed on technologies and strategies
  • Be the spokesman and representative for the field network and voice teams towards all key partners, including but not limited to all Planning & Engineering teams, other IT departments, key contacts in FedEx U.S. and other regions
  • Lead projects that will include coordinating efforts from internal and external resources
  • Be involved in department financials, legal/contractual and compliancy

Ideal candidate & Qualifications

Candidates should have at least a master in IT or equivalent and 10 years of IT relevant experience. Candidates should be comfortable working in both a team and individual environments, have a technical background in network & voice technologies, possess process background, good analytical mind, project management experience, excellent communications skill sets and should be fluent in English.

Selected individual will be part of the FedEx EU Field Network & Voice Engineering Plan team.
