Service Foods Limited is a New Zealand wide company specialising in Food service. We supply to Cafes, Restaurants, Hotels, Manufacturers, Retailers, Distributors and exporters nationwide with a broad selection of imported and locally manufactured food products. Our core product areas are across fresh produce, dry, frozen and chilled departments.

In this dynamic and fast paced role, you will showcase your proactive eye for detail, identifying opportunities to enhance our processes and solve problems as they arise. Exceptional communication skills, problem solving and being self-motivated will come naturally to you, along with a desire to learn, grow with the business and develop your career.

Reporting to the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, this is a national role, and you will be responsible for the overall national accuracy and compliance of inventory, building systems, training, auditing and ensuring that the business is managing obsolescence and stock accuracy. You will be liaising with the external audit team on annual compliance checks, reporting back a strategy to the MD and executive management around improvement in this area.

You will also oversee the system of stock returns, write offs. Document, audit and find solutions to reduce this over time as well as a developed ongoing strategy.

To succeed in this role, we’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Team leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Commercially astute with experience optimising revenue and minimising costs
  • Experience implementing and managing inventory management systems and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to analyse large data sets and identify insights
  • Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel and numerical skills
  • Data analysis and reporting skills 
  • Strong computer skills 
  • A customer-centric attitude and a collaborative approach to resolving and implementing initiatives
  • Commitment to health and safety
