Lead Power and Performance Modeling Engineer - 126741
In this role as Lead System Power and Performance Modeling Engineer you will develop and maintain an end-to-end PPT (power-performance-thermal) modeling framework supporting lead engineers, covering all client programs. The role entails close collaboration with leadership team, performance architects, power architects, core designers, physical design (PD), GPU design, power management and SW architects, packaging engineers, and platform hardware engineers. The results of the modeling activity guide product definition and performance separation, performance-per-watt attainment optimization, debug, providing outlooks to future process nodes and designs.
You will report your results to large audiences within the company, including managerial and executives. The modeling data presented will trigger important decisions, and next steps towards optimization of one or more products. Working with automated environments will help you drive “big data†based decisions.

Drive performance/watt assessment, analysis, and attainment optimization for Client Notebook products with the modeling effort; continuous debug, analysis, & defect resolution throughout the course of the ongoing project to ensure modeling results and predictions are accurate.
Engage with multi-functional leadership & software and hardware teams to integrate your work with other project work streams; opportunity to provide end-to-end support and collaboration across the organizations.
Support multi-functional technical teams with targeted modeling efforts towards addressing specific system-level design deltas and their influence on overall system performance.
Hands-on debug to root cause performance and power challenges; collaborate with peer teams to analyze behaviors and resolve issues.
Collaborate with other specialists on common program modeling, workload characterization, test & debug activities and process improvements.
Direct technical experience on system performance analysis and validated understanding of micro-architectural power management routines.
Product development with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems.
Experience in the PC architecture space and familiarity with hands-on system setup & testing.
Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills.
Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment.
Masters or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer or Electrical Engineering preferred with 5-7+ years validated experience
