What you’ll be doing...

As a Device Management systems architect you will keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. You will analyze and recommend to executives technical trade-offs in product development and partners departments with peer engineers. As part of the Core Network Services Planning and architecture team, the candidate will play a key role in developing the evolving direction of Device Management. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities and driving the progress of various initiatives that will impact how partners and customers manage their devices. You possess a mix of computer systems, cellular networking and device management protocol engineering background along with experience in the general mobile industry. You are comfortable working with partners, other Development, Technology, Planning and IT team. As a Network Planning Engineer you will be responsible for long term and short term solution design, integration, validation, capacity management, budgeting, contract establishment of device management systems.

  • Develop excellent working relationships with Network Operations, Planning teams, Device Technology, Device Marketing, Product Development, ThingSpace and IT teams along with a strong vendor relationship.
  • Author and collaborate on Technical Requirements, Specifications, Proposals, High Level Designs, and other applicable engineering documents.
  • Ensure end-to-end organizational alignment between all engineering and program management organizations as well as business stakeholders to ensure feasible implementation and successful market launches.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor statements of work and relationships.
  • Technical development with emerging technology partners. Independently manage complex technical projects.
  • Provide tiered trouble resolution when necessary.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Device Management including architecture of system solutions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or any other related field.
  • Six or more years of professional experience with experience and knowledge of Device Management and Wireless protocols and standards (e.g. 3GPP, OMA-DM, LWM2M, TR-69, SMS, SMPP…).
  • Strong technical knowledge of the wireless network, IP networking and messaging networks.
  • Solid understanding of device to network interaction in the cellular/wireless and wired based device management technologies, content distribution networks, cellular device activations processes, 4G and 5G packet core knowledge, device management client behavior.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to management and support teams.
