You will work in a team of Network Planners, Developers and Data Scientists to support the development of software and analytics capabilities for modelling Sky’s Mobile and Voice network infrastructure and drive the network strategy.

What you’ll do:

Mobile Core domain expertise
• Support network design and architecture teams during RFI/RFPs
• Collaborate with vendors to understand capacity limitations and contractual obligations
• Communicate requirements to your team for data ingestion and modelling
Network Modelling
• Develop capacity and economic network models
• Resolve network’s impact of proposition changes and updated business forecasts
• Drive network roadmap
Network Planning
• Review and approve design documents
• Ensure the network is accurately dimensioned
• Work with network design and delivery teams
Network Improvement Analytics
• Apply data science methodologies to analyse and improve network performance and efficiency
• Optimise design rules to support network economics objectives
• Present analysis and forecasts to relevant stakeholders up to CTO

What you’ll bring:

You will have excellent knowledge and experience in mobile core network design and planning ideally coupled with some proficiency in Python programming.
This is a highly dynamic role that will allow you to grow skills beyond networking in the software development and data science domains.

Essential requirements:
• BSc in Computer Science/ Telecoms (or similar)
• Cisco or other network certifications
• Network Design / Planning experience on Mobile Packet Core, Messaging and Voice
• Interest to develop Programming and Data Science skills

The Network Data Science and Software team, part of Sky’s Engineering Division, takes a data-driven approach towards meeting network planning goals, including capacity planning, performance planning and network economics. We develop insights which reinforce planning decisions and support wider commercial objectives.
