Memory IP System Engineer - 83043

Key Responsibilities:
As a Memory IP System Engineer (IPSE), you will drive planning and execution for memory subsystem development, and validation of AMD Semi-Custom SOC products. Planning and execution covers resource and schedule requirements, hardware and software requirements, validation test architecture and development based on the memory IP features of SOC products. This memory IPSE will also be directly in contact with AMD customers of the Semi-Customer SOC products.
Defining and executing overall memory IP functional test plan and validation strategy for AMD Semi-Custom SOC products.
Working closely with supporting teams in SOC design, memory IP development, firmware and diagnostics ensuring readiness for first silicon arrival, enablement of memory features during bring up, and debug of memory related issues throughout the development life cycle.
Driving technical innovation to enhance AMD’s memory validation capabilities, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and multi-functional technical initiatives.
Driving debug of memory IP related issues found during pre-silicon emulation, bringup, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.
Drive collaborative team discussions to drive resolution of technical issues and to address technical initiatives.
Engage with AMD Semi-Custom SOC customers throughout the development lifecycle, from the early stages of development planning through validation execution and production support.
Engaging with the various memory suppliers is support of the SOC system development and the validation execution.
Preferred Experience:
We are seeking someone with previous confirmed experience in SOC design/verification, memory validation and/or SOC IP electrical characterization, post-silicon experience preferred. Additional experience includes:
Solid understanding and hands-on experience with various memory technologies such as DDR, GDDR, LPDDR and others.
Programming/scripting skills (eg. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
Extensive experience with debug techniques and methodologies.
Hands-on experience in using lab equipment, oscilloscopes, bit error rate detectors etc.
Experience in characterization of analog IPs like PLL, DAC and transceivers are a strong plus.
In-depth knowledge of PC architectures and system technologies.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and customer facing interaction.
Must be a self-starter, able drive tasks to completion independently in a dynamic team working environment.
Ability to flex responsibilities over the development lifecycle.
Leadership and mentoring skills a definite asset.
Academic Credentials:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with focus on high-speed interface technology, memory controllers and/or I/O controllers.
