The Opportunity

 

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure. We’re working on game-changing projects and this role will allow you to develop your skills and gain exposure to types of work that you just won’t find anywhere else. 

 

We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Tradesperson to join our crew at Yennora, NSW – Permanent Fulltime 

 

You will be involved in:

 

The maintenance and repairs of a wide variety of equipment including, Heavy and Light Vehicles, Plant used for road construction and specialist plant items such as Vehicular Ferries and driver aid systems

Duties involving installation, routine servicing and maintenance, repairs, auto electrical and fabrication, commissioning and modification of complex machinery driven by hydraulic/pneumatic principles.

You will complete diagnostic and fault finding tasks to identify and fix mechanical issues across the fleet.

Completion of work in a variety of environments including workshop and onsite high traffic locations and construction sites.

The use of laptops, tablets and other computer related items for all record keeping and compliance.

You will be required and willing to work outside regular working hours as required and as directed by your manager

Fabrication and welding tasks for the repair and manufacturing of items such as sign brackets, mudguards, trailer repairs and form work.

About you

 

You have the ability to work independently and within a small team, hold a relevant automotive trade qualification, you will have good problem solving skills, fault diagnosis skill and will be proactive in dealing with customer complaints by being effective and efficient in your approach. With a strong focus on safety, you have the ability to identify, communicate and report both safety and environmental hazards in the workplace and understand the quality requirements of the tasks to be performed within this position.

 

It is essential you have a White card and trade qualifications as an Automotive Vehicle Mechanic with high exposure to Heavy Vehicles.

 

Experience in auto electrical, hydraulics, welding / metal fabrication, or plant/heavy vehicle mechanic background will be highly regarded.

 

Desirable hold an MR or HC drivers licence, forklift high risk licence, authorised examiner (E-Safety Check) 

 

Wage and Benefits

 

The wage for this position is Mechanical Trades Grade 1 - 3 ($1285.20 - $1422.40) per week plus superannuation and allowances.
