The purpose of Vertical Lift Supply Chain Management is to ensure effective delivery of goods and services to support the success of Vertical Lift programmes through  forecasting, proposal management and contract change; component maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO); inventory maintenance; procurement and supplier management as well as warehouse management and parts distribution.

The Role

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Boeing Vertical Lift Supply Chain team for a Materials Management Specialist on the UK AH-64E Apache Long Term Training and Support Service (LTTSS) programme. This role will be responsible to the Apache Material Flow Manager for the daily management of NATO codification of materiel to support the UK AH-64E Apache. The successful candidate will need to be proactive, agile thinker, able to solve complex problems with a multi-stakeholder environment.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the codification process in support of new and existing tasks. Includes liaison with Engineering, Supplier Management & Procurement, suppliers and customers. Ensure drumbeat metrics are in place to support SCMB on a monthly basis.
  • Adopt Boeing best business practices to identify Continuous Improvement opportunities that contribute to efficiency savings and benefits for the LTTSS programme.
  • Participate in Employee Involvement (EI) projects for the Supply Chain Planning team and identify Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI).
  • Efficiently prioritise all tasks to best support the business needs.
  • Execute Supply Chain Planning Best Practices during the completion of all assigned work.
  • Use innovative measures to solve day-to-day supply chain problems.
  • Attend or host any meetings required to support the role.
  • Support the Material Flow team in
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by Line Management.
  • Attend and host meetings as required.

Key Interfaces include

  • Liaison between all BDUK Supply Chain Functions.
  • Boeing Engineering for technical data.
  • Boeing Quality Engineers as appropriate.
  • Ministry of Defence Apache Delivery Team.

Job Skills

  • Experienced Supply Chain professional.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Understand and utilise Root Cause Analysis techniques to investigate and resolve problems as they occur.

Essential requirements

  • The ability to obtain SC Clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience of the Military Supply Chain, Defence Standards and the Defence Logistic Framework.
