We are on a hugely exciting journey with data and analytics to develop a world-class team here at TalkTalk. Marketing Technology Engineer (MarTech Engineer) will play a part in executing our data and analytics strategy. Successful data capture, governance and tag management will be achieved through collaborating with product owners, developers and the marketing team to help build a digital analytics and tag management platform which will support our efforts as we move towards becoming an insight driven organisation.

 

Key responsibilities:


Improve the measurement of digital products, marketing and experimentation through:

  • Designing tag management, data layer, product analytics including experimentation platforms

  • Managing and governing digital data capture, compliance, user access and tag management

  • Implementing and optimising the use of marketing technology tags and technologies.


And additionally:

  • Work in partnership with stakeholders across the business, notably developers, product owners, data engineers and the marketing team.

  • Proactively identifying opportunities for improving product measurement and marketing reporting and activation

  • Monitor feature releases and data quality, addressing data quality issues when present working with developers, data engineer and marketing specialists through to resolution.

  • Support the Data Engineering team managing pipelines from digital analytics into our data warehouse

  • Governing and maintain our systems through process design, documentation, user access and where required education  


What you need to succeed

An open/growth mindset, flexible and positive attitude toward new challenges, with a willingness to embrace new technologies and business change

A good understand of at least 2 (but not all) of the below of the below data capture and marketing technologies:

  • Digital Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe, Amplitude, GA4, UX Analytics)

  • Experimentation platforms (Optimizely, Maxymiser, AB Tasty)

  • Tag Management Solutions (Google Tag Manager, Tealium, Adobe Launch etc…)

  • Data Layers (DigitalData, W3C or Tealium UTAG etc…)

  • Advance Web Technologies (Angular JS, Server Side, .Net)

  • Marketing Technology Platforms (SA360, Google Campaign Manager et al)

In addition to:

  • A basic understanding of how web technologies work (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) with a degree in Computer Science or Web Development being advantageous but not required

  • Prior experience of collaborating on digital data solution design with developers and translating business requirements into readable design documentation is advantageous but not required
