Set to open in mid-2022, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne offers legendary Ritz-Carlton guest service to visitors to Australia’s arts and epicurean capital. A beacon of Melbourne’s rich culture, history and future, the hotel takes centre stage at 270m high, commanding the city’s skyline. Guests are welcomed via express elevator, direct to the Sky Lobby on Level 80 of the hotel which affords uninterrupted panoramic views of Melbourne city and surrounds. The hotel comprises 257 luxury guest rooms and suites, including The Ritz-Carlton Club and The Ritz-Carlton Suite. A signature restaurant, intimate bar and spacious all-day dining lounge offer local and seasonal menus and an extensive beverage list. World-class meeting and event spaces total 2,781sqm, and include The Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom, complete with expansive pre-function space, 7m high ceilings and impressive floor to ceiling feature-window. JOB SUMMARY
Part of a valuable team that creates and executes property-level communications to our guests and customers that leave lasting impressions that create guests for life, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the creation, promotion, delivery and market positioning of luxury experiences at The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne. Under the leadership of the Director of Marketing, this role promotes on-brand messaging to guests and customers through traditional, digital, and social media channels all with the goal of enhancing the image and profit leadership of the hotel. This role helps build direct marketing plans, targeted campaigns, and activated channels to drive consumer awareness and preference, increase market share, and build broader portfolio and brand awareness. This role focuses on showcasing hotel experiences and food and beverage promotions, both to hotel guests and to local patrons. As part of the Marketing team, this role is fully connected into resources in their region; the Marketing Coordinator will liaise with and build deep partnerships with their regional Digital and Marketing teams to verify all local, social, and digital marketing efforts are effectively integrated with the selling efforts for the organisation. This role is dynamic and balances traditional and digital marketing and eCommerce activities with integrated content creation and public relations activities for the hotel. The successful applicant must be passionate about marketing, hotels, travel and luxury, have an excellent eye for detail, possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to actively contribute to truly compelling marketing and communications campaigns that excite, engage and drive sales and revenue to The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
An undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major, and
4 years’ experience in the hotels, sales, marketing, events or digital-related professional area; hospitality marketing, content creation and digital advertising experience preferred
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Hotel Marketing and Advertising
Assist with the execution of the annual marketing plan to budget, in consultation with the Director of Marketing, Food and Beverage leader, Operations leaders, and cluster marketing and digital teams.
Partner with Operations, Food & Beverage and Sales teams to execute promotions and campaigns to target both external and in-house guests with promotions that drive incremental revenue to the hotel.
Act as the liaison between the marketing department and advertising agency on the tactical advertising campaigns' creative and media plans, particularly for food and beverage promotions.
Assist with the management of hotel and F&B media schedules and verifies prompt settlement of accounts.
Partner with property Revenue Management to verify correct offer loading, verifying advertisement targeting is correctly directed at relevant consumer groups.
Execute email marketing, and display advertising, in consultation with the Director of Marketing.
Maintains frequent, active engagement with Cluster or Area Team managers to verify alignment, pull-through, and 2-way communication about the status, performance evaluation, opportunities, and issues related to online programs and initiatives.
Verify all advertising for the hotel in digital channels is in alignment with brand voice.
Social Media Content Management
Facilitate social media engagement and update content in local digital channels (e.g., hotel website, travel sites).
Develop and execute targeted promotions and seasonal campaigns across F&B, weddings, spa, rooms and conferences through relevant digital and social media channels.
Engage in proactive online reputation management by surfacing relevant guest comments (positive or negative) in social media channels and responds accordingly.
Public Relations and Visual Asset Management
Assist with the development of a comprehensive PR plan per quarter along with the Director of Marketing and the appointed PR agency, and executes post sign-off from the General Manager.
Maintain a comprehensive list of local media contracts, with particular emphasis on luxury pillars identified within the PR and media plan.
Manage assigned accounts as per the media account management system.
Assist with the drafting and distribution of all press releases for property events, promotions, and outlets.
Assist with the management and execution of hotel sponsored events, community/government relations activities, and press promotional activities.
Support pull-through of impactful PR strategy and activities to drive quality press coverage through media engagement, in alignment with communications objectives.
Verify news clippings and other online, print, and social media mention reporting is completed on a monthly basis for property distribution.
Assist with the management of external vendors and media agencies; work with agency partners, Director of Marketing and continent PR leader to identify strategic media buy for the hotel.
Surface and vet PR leads from the continent PR Leader regarding which are the best media to promote the hotel.
Support the co-ordination of photography for hotel and F&B advertising, collateral and public relations purposes between the hotel, advertising agency and the regional field marketing teams.
Assist with the management and coordination of photo shoots for seasonal or festive promotions.
Act as central point of contact for regionally approved local photographers for food, amenity, and property imagery; coordinates with Director of Marketing and area or cluster marketing to verify all photography adheres to brand voice.
Direct Marketing and Collateral Development
Coordinate and execute hotel and F&B printed materials.
Control quantity and inventory of all hotel marketing collateral and verify copies are filed in a comprehensive manner.
Assist in the production of all property, F&B display, and temporary signage in hotel public areas.
Promote collection of competitor collateral and publicity on a monthly basis.
Assist with the planning and execution of hotel and F&B direct marketing activities.
Verify all collateral is as per brand standard guidelines and in compliance with brand voice and Brand Standard or Luxury Audit.
General
Assist with the development, co-ordination and execution of all internal and external communications activities
Support marketing and communication duties and functions as deemed necessary.
Work with the Digital Services Area team to verify the hotel’s website and related websites are updated on a regular basis.
Work with the Field Marketing Area team to ensure participation in all aligned destination marketing efforts.
Partner with the Director of Marketing to create annual marketing plans aligned to hotel sales and revenue strategy.
Continue to develop into a marketing subject matter expert through market research, skills acquisition and on the job experience.
Coordinate with property and above property Digital and Revenue Management teams to report success of property marketing and digital performance.
Keep abreast of competition collateral, advertising, and marketing efforts, as well as constantly evolving digital and marketing trends.
