Robert Half is looking for a self-starter who combines a real passion for analytics with great social skills. The Real Estate Accounting Financial Reporting role is based out of Vancouver, British Columbia and is a long-term contract / temporary position.
Key responsibilities
- Review and examine results for actuals vs. budget/forecast
- Support the annual operating plan, the monthly forecast, the monthly reporting and analysis, and the business planning process. Deliver and explain variance analysis
- Prepare, implement, and comply with management reporting & analysis requirements in collaboration with internal business partners
- Lead efforts to improve financial reporting and analysis as well as requisite system requirements
- Deliver impromptu analytical support and take on special projects when necessary
- Maintain regular communication with property management firms to understand issues impacting financial and portfolio performance.
- Current and relevant ERP system experience, ideally with Microsoft Business Central and or Yardi.
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative/analytical disciplines
- Experience with higher level functionality in Microsoft Excel
- Practical knowledge of Annual Forecasts
- Well-founded grasp of real estate project accounting would be an asset
- Quality experience with budgets, forecasting, variance analysis and cash flow management
- Proven knowledge of CPA Designation
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
