Job Description

The Manager, Marketplace Compliance is responsible for building out an end-to-end roadmap to track, assess and handle compliance issues, in partnership with cross functional teams. This role will look after Fraud, Trust and Safety, Payments and Tax areas of compliance. This role will develop a framework and action terminations/suspensions and re-instatement of sellers/items. This role will stay current with industry compliance trends and adapt those emerging trends to Walmart.ca Marketplace.

  • Manage Fraud end to end: From developing tools and processes to detecting fraud, as well as engaging cross functional teams (Data Science, Compliance, T&S, Ops, KAM) to address Fraud.
  • Develop KPIs on # of identified fraud issues vs. resolved fraud issues and improvement in addressing at launch.
  • Seller Arbitrage: leverage US tools and reporting to get ahead of new Seller Fraud and Arbitrage trends and action suspensions/terminations – KPI: track # of cases identified and resolved as well as impact to Seller #s, GMV $ and CPO %.
  • Liaise with Canada Compliance and Legal as well as KAMs to implement any new rules/guidelines as required as well as adopt US new rules for items, Sellers and categories and vet with KAM team to ensure alignment with Canada business needs.
  • Develop and manage robust T&S reporting to identify all Seller infractions and enable KAMs to better manage their accounts.
  • Action Seller suspensions/terminations and reinstatements based on infractions against T&S, Pricing and Ops SOPs and develop ‘one stop shop’ reporting to capture all of this at Seller level.
  • Manage payment provider evolution, enhancements and consult on addition of new partners.
  • Work with cross functional teams (Tax, Legal, Finance, Tech Finance) to ensure up to date compliance and understanding of Federal, Provincial and US tax requirements and implement processes to track this compliance and roll out.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of business/ecommerce experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience in Canadian compliance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and comfort working with technology teams is a must.
  • Experience in Retail Merchandising, Tax or e-Commerce Operations an asset.
  • Comfort working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
