FedEx Express has a challenging opening for a Manager IT – Manager Field IT Infrastructure RUN (network & voice).

Across FedEx Express Field IT Infrastructure drives the innovation and adoption of standard processes, technology, and governance across all Field IT FedEx Express, enabling federated implementation of network services within Europe.

Within Field IT the primary mission of the European Network center of excellence Team is to ensure optimal network performance and availability. Provide L2-L3 24/7 support, capacity management on network and voice in the Europe region, working closely with in country Field IT teams.

Job Description
We're looking for a manager with necessary technical background in the network & voice environment, combining it with ITIL skills to lead a technical RUN team. In a plan, build & run setup, this team is the run part to ensure optimal network performance and availability.
The manager will be in charge of building & selecting the team fully. Enabling total control and ownership of the task ahead. A one-of-a-kind opportunity.

Key Responsibilities / Competencies:
•             The successful candidate will achieve results through creating the framework which engages and inspires their team, demonstrating strong capabilities in process development, optimization and integrating these processes into the wider IT operating model.
•             Meet allocated technical and/or project/supervisory objectives. Establishes milestones and has a significant role in the delegation of responsibilities.
•             Communicates effectively, both formally and informally.
•             Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.
•             Responsible for the FTE budget and determines & defends FTE needs to support the European Field IT network
•             Coaching & evaluation of the team members
•             Contract review / service evaluation of suppliers / contractors
•             Understands the relevance of own area of responsibility/specialism to the enterprise.
•             Takes initiative to keep own skills as well as that of the team up to date. Maintains an awareness of developments in the industry.
•             Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for continuous operational improvement.
•             WAN Capacity management
•             Demonstrates creativity and innovation in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder.
•             Ability to drive transformation through architecture, mandating modernization whilst supporting the business 
•             Expansion and perpetuation of the functioning of the Team:
•             Determining and following up team objectives/spoc tasks & associated improvement tracks.
•             Optimizing customer support (incl. tools).
•             Identify improvements and convert them into improvement tracks.
•             Distribute improvement tracks across the group and follow up.
•             Following up on the tasks within the team and possibly facilitating or including discussions with other departments/customers with management.
•             Communication from & to senior management and business stakeholders in connection with:
•             General operation of the team.
•             Reporting on KPI /SLA.
•             Escalations (internal & customer).

The ideal candidate for this job will have key skills and strong experience in some or all the following areas:
•             Bachelor or Master in IT.
•             At least 5 to 10 years of relevant and practical experience in IT management.
•             Fluent English both written and verbal.
•             Technology – A strong Technical background with a background in IT networking.
•             Network and communications services such as WAN, WLAN, LAN technologies in both physical as well as software defined solutions.
•             Governance:
•             thorough understand of ITIL.
•             IT Service Management (ITSM).
•             Operations Management.
•             Communications - Extensive (senior) stake holder management and communication / presentation abilities to represent Field IT.
•             Service – Experience of working in an international environment.
•             Business – Relate IT objectives and strategies to business needs to ensure value propositions are of direct benefit to the organisation whilst keeping the focus on increasing speed to value and maintaining quality.
•             Leadership – The ability to build, lead, motivate and empower a team through a transformation journey.
