Legal Data Management Lead – 9 Months FTC
Join EDF as a Legal Data Management Lead, where you will be supporting one of our most exciting projects in a varied and challenging role.
You will play a pivotal role in managing project data for the legal team, developing legal processes and procedures, supporting the legal team on transitional arrangements and project planning, co-ordinating legal aspects of stakeholder due diligence on the SZC (Sizewell C) project and managing the corporate relationship for our SZC Virtual Dataroom (VDR). You will also have the opportunity to support the wider team with various workstreams pivotal for the development of the SZC project.
As part of our plan to secure a low-carbon energy future, EDF UK is leading the way in building a fleet of safe, reliable nuclear power stations in the UK. SZC is a proposed new nuclear station that is being developed with a target to start construction in c. 2022 or 2023. It is a large infrastructure project with a very important role in the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The project will have a big impact in the drive to reduce carbon emissions in the UK.

The opportunity…
As a Legal Data Management Lead, you will be providing project management support to the Legal team across various data driven workstreams including, SZC’s Integrated Work Schedule project management coordination, tracking and management of the legal team’s transitional plan including ownership of any data driven activities, and coordinating SZC’s governance arrangements including shareholder reporting.
You will also support the Legal team in the development of internal operating procedures for submission to the information management system and shall be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the review of the Legal team’s suite of procedures. In due course you will also be responsible for maintaining, developing and delivering SZC’s institutional contract reporting.
You will be supporting with investor due diligence arrangements and will be responsible for the day to day commercial and technical management relationship with the external provider of the VDR platform. You will be required to monitor, maintain, track and control usage of the VDR; carry out document uploads and audits; manage user accounts; perform system analytical reporting; and, alongside colleagues in the Financing and Economic Regulation team, will be responsible for development and improvement of due diligence platforms and processes.
What we’re looking for…
You will have proven experience in a data management, due diligence and/or infrastructure project management role, with the ability to define and develop data / due diligence processes and procedures. You will ideally understand the current legislative, policy (and policy evolution) and key risks faced by new infrastructure projects and knowledge of nuclear projects and economic regulatory models would be desirable.
You can demonstrate that you can effectively manage and analyse data and information using Microsoft Excel and other analytical software, whilst keeping an up-to-date knowledge of data management tools.
It is important that you have strong organisation, administrative and analytical skills with the ability to convey results concisely. You can build and develop relationships with key stakeholders and deliver high quality work on time. Acting in a professional manner with a positive and enthusiastic ‘can always do’ attitude. You will be strategic-minded, have strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
