What You’ll Create and Do
As a Legal Assistant, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Reporting to the Senior Manager of the PwC Corporate/ Tax Law team, the Legal Assistance is responsible for supporting the day-to-day business activities for a group of lawyers in the Corporate/Tax law team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Arranging internal and external meetings, responding to changing priorities; the coordination of meeting logistics and the preparation of supporting materials.
Reviewing and prioritizing incoming e-mail; taking action or responding to requests on behalf of the lawyer.
Review upcoming deadlines and work requirements with the lawyers, updating project plans; and manage the flow of work to the lawyers.
Prepare engagement letters and assist in preparation of proposals;
Typing, formatting, compiling and editing closing books;
Preparation of minor transaction documents, closing agendas, project plans for lawyer review;
Draft standard and non-standard correspondence, spreadsheets and presentations using the MS office, or proprietary software as required, while adhering to branding standards.
File signed documents to client file and in virtual minte books as required
Conduct regular health checks of virtual Minute Books as required.
Prepare and submit expense reports.
Organize logistics and material for internal/external events, or training sessions on behalf of the lawyers.
Organize and code invoices for payment as directed by lawyers.
Coordinating with Billing Assistant and responsible lawyer.
Preparing billing request forms and following-up with clients for payment.
Book travel when required with an approved travel provider.
Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

Completion of a related post-secondary education program.
Minimum of two-five years’ experience as a Legal Assistant
Must have strong organizational skills, meticulous follow-up and follow-through, good judgement and ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail.
Strong technical skills using MS office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Google and ALF would be considered an asset.
Self-motivated, team player with a strong sense of pride and responsibility for their work.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential including the ability to relate to people at all levels.
Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
