DOC's Learning Management System (LMS) is integral to the delivery of our conservation mahi.  You will take a lead role in managing, maintaining, and enhancing the LMS. This will include ensuring that our platform is providing best the online learning experience for our learners.  You will maintain and use data to share insights on usage, learning trends as well as reporting.  

You will need to be confident in engaging with people working in a variety of roles and understand how to embed meaningful learning into the work of your fellow kaimahi. Our programme of work is vast and will require a dedicated team player to help keep meet our workload.

There is opportunity to take part or lead other learning and development programmes depending on your skills and experience.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

• Whakawhanaungatanga – an ability to foster and develop relationships with colleagues, public and our Te Tiriti partners
• Strong understanding of best practices in learning design and delivery across a range of different ways of learning and audience types.
• Previous experience managing and maintaining a Learning Management System with a learner centric approach.
• Understanding of the world of online learning for example e-learning workshops, knowledge architecture and databases (SQL).  Be someone who pushes the boundaries of what is achievable in the e-learning space and learning management functionality.  
• Strong consultation skills – able to identify learning needs, provide strong solution recommendations, and review the learning design and development work of others.
• Ability to use data to support operational functions, create and customise reports.
• Qualification in adult education and strong experience in virtual workshop facilitation is desirable.
• The ability to think and see the big picture while ensuring accuracy in the data.
• Proficiency at managing projects and meeting tight deadlines
• The ability to work independently and use initiative

You would be joining a passionate team in a role that contributes to strategic and meaningful mahi. This is a role where you will be working closely with managers and subject matter experts to provide strategic capability development advice, design and deliver impactful learning and development solutions to their needs.

In this role you will be a nationally distributed team member. You can work from any location in Aotearoa if you have strong internet access and appropriate workspace. There may be an opportunity to periodically work from a DOC office, depending on your location and the occupancy level of the local offices. Some travel may be required but the ability to interact and stay engaged with a distributed team is crucial.
