“We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead a team of 4 – 5 industrial designers reporting to Sky’s Industrial Design Director” â€“ Peter Griffiths, Director Group Industrial Design

What you’ll do:

• Assist in developing and implementing successful design strategies by outlining how the design team will create the project’s deliverables and implementing the Design Director’s creative direction.
• Administer the daily operations of the team, evaluate individual design deliverables, manage the team’s performance, and deliver feedback as necessary while encouraging team members throughout a project.
• Support the director in creating and maintaining an open, curious and creative workplace culture.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders from Engineering, Product, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing.
• Track and collect product feedback by assessing customer responses and checking research to gain an overall picture of how well the product performs.
• Red flag any current or potential issues as early as possible, so solutions can be found and priorities rearranged, to mitigate the impact.

What you’ll bring:

• Approximately seven years of design experience with three years of design management experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams, building trust with key stakeholders.
• Ability to bring clarity to complex situations and lead with a level head.
• Comfortable managing conflict and getting the best out of people.
• A degree in industrial design, product design or similar field at bachelor’s, preferably masters level.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

Brentwood:

Our location takes some beating: we’re practically in Brentwood station, which has regular trains to London Liverpool Street. If you find it easier to drive, there’s some onsite parking, while Chatham Way car park is a short walk away.
