Job Description

Reporting into the Head of Toll Global Forwarding IT Products , the Lead Data Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting big data solutions including integration across core data warehousing platforms.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

• Partners closely with business analysts, ETL specialists and data scientists to design and implement BI & Analytics solutions
• Identifies data sources relevant to solving business problems and help design the optimal combination of data sources and analytical techniques
• Working with large data sets from multiple sources utilising big data tools and techniques to prepare data
• sources for efficient analysis and insight generation.
• Understanding the quality of data sourced, its management, and liaising with data scientists, report developers and other BI and Analytics COE experts to management the impact of data quality issues.
• Drive collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.

Qualifications

What we are looking for: 

• At least 7+ years of relevant experience working with database systems and data warehouse solutions
• Proven working experience in Azure Data platform tools & services.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL, Teradata, Oracle
• Experience with relational data modelling database packages such as Oracle, SQL, Server, Sybase or DB2.
• Experience working in agile environment
• Experience in working in both on premise and cloud-based platforms
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
