About this role
This role is about solving our defence customer’s most complex technological challenges by creating innovative digital solutions. Making use of BT and industry offerings you will transform the way that they can do business in achieving their vision. You will also be providing key solution architecture ownership and expertise throughout all stages of the solutions design engagement life cycle.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Be an ambassador for our company, our customers, and our team.
Be a primary solution architect of our Defence Fixed Telecommunications Services, responsible for E2E solution architecture, governance, leadership, accountability, and ownership of all technology towers throughout all stages of a solution design life cycle.
Be the authoritative lead on building the right solution of single or multiple technology towers from customer requirements.
Define and create pre-sales and post sales technical collateral.
Develop and manage customer relationships and deliver an outstanding customer experience
You'll have the following skills & experience
UKSV Security Check clearance (as a minimum)
Comprehensive knowledge and experienced across a range of networking technology architecture disciplines comprising of: Detailed understanding of IP Networking (L1-L7), including ServiceProvider WAN technologies and solutions; Detailed understanding of PTSN, MPLS, VPLS, BGP, OSPF, GRE tunnelling, encryption, media conversion (IPS/IDS/packet capture); Detailed understanding of Network security; perimeter security, encryption, authentication, and sensors; Detailed understanding of DWDM, SDH designs, knowledge of OTN, optical planning awareness and impairment impacts.
Comprehensive knowledge and experienced of networking vendors technologies, solutions, and products (Cisco, Ribbon, Juniper, Pal Alto, Fortinet).
Knowledge of TEMPEST and HEMP architecture and solutions.
Experienced in ensuring communication information systems installed on MoD sites are controlled certified and authorised in accordance with the mandatory regulations (SCIDA).
Experienced in industry architecture methodologies & languages (TOGAF, MODAF, ArchiMate, ITIL, BPNM, UML and Microsoft Visio).
Experienced in responding to complex, multi-vendor public sector propositions and bid proposals based on customer requirements (OJEU, PQQ, ISOS, ISDS, ISFT, ITN, ITT).
Experienced in developing technology roadmaps and governance structures in line with customer requirements.
Demonstrate proven commercial awareness to ensure solutions meet customer requirements both technically and in terms of cost.
Experienced in identifying and mitigate risks, and problem-solving for information systems and technology architectures.
Experienced in communicating and influencing across all levels and technical abilities.
Experienced in working in major public industry sectors; Defence (MoD) and/or HM Government departments or agencies.
Working knowledge and experienced in HMG MoD compliance and security policies.
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal support and guidance.
