Job Purpose:
To assist Programme Management team in the co-ordination of ongoing Analyst, Associate and Internprogrammes across BCMA, helping to ensure a comprehensive approach to the recruitment, development and retention of the junior population.
Job Background/context:
The EMEA Banking business comprises approximately 1700 plus employees organized by business, industry and geography. London is the main hub with over 900 employees, with the rest spread across 40+ EMEA countries. An overview of the team function is as follows:-
Management of Talent within EMEA BCMA
- Design and implement strategy to ensure business is resourced appropriately
- Managing of human capital at all levels
- Monitoring individual development of bankers at all stages of their career
- Informal mentoring role:
- Managing of junior redundancy/restructuring processes; joint decision-maker alongside Group Heads
- Mumbai staffing: EMEA Stakeholder, Monthly calls, Management of EMEA allocated Resources
- Diversity champion of the business
Resourcing and Recruitment
- Headcount approvals for new hires
- Design hiring strategy for Campus Recruiting & Lateral Hires
- Making and implementing team allocation decisions
Performance and Compensation
- Management of Review & Comp Processes for VPs and below
- Co-ordination with NY on junior compensation
- Monitoring of BM compensation
Training and Regulatory Requirements
- Design & implementation of training programmes
- Liaise with Compliance to ensure fulfilment of training and registration regulatory requirements
- Development and implementation of CIB Banking Curriculum
Budget and Expense Management
- Preparing, negotiating & controlling specific Budgets: Headcount, Training, Recruitment, Junior/Senior Interaction, Client Entertainment, Morale Boosting events, etc.
- Providing Exception Approvals: Various restricted commodity approval: Travel, contracts, events etc.
Cross-Selling Activities
- Assisting with the efforts of the ICG Business Development Group (BDG), aimed at driving cross marketing activity between the Private Bank and CIB
- Banking Navigation: Key contact point between bankers in the Private Bank and BCMA
- Working alongside BCMA Business Selection team to improve processes for identification of Wealth Creation Events
Key Responsibilities:
- Mobility – Co-ordinate our mobility programmes, track all transfers and rotations, work with HR and all relevant parties. Prepare email communications to advertise roles, send out confirmation of rotations and transfers.
- Global Rotation Programme - Co-ordinate rotation opportunities with 3rd year analysts and Associates and liaise with different geographies like NY, Asia, Latam and with different businesses.
- BCMA Junior Newsletter – Manage the content and preparation of the BCMA junior monthly newsletter. Coordinate with all content suppliers, draft newsletter and sure all parties sign off on content before sending
- Long Term Placement Programme – Co-ordinate the BCMA Long Term Placement Programme. Including preparation for orientation weeks, liaising with trainers, creating training schedule, organising events for interns, establishing the mentor programme for interns, managing the progress and review process and assisting with the final offer process as well as being the point person for all matters relating to this programme.
- Summer Programmes - Co-ordinate both the Analyst and Associate Summer Programmes. Including preparation for orientation weeks, liaising with trainers, creating training schedule, organising events for interns, establishing the mentor programme for interns, managing the progress and review process and assisting with the final offer process as well as being the point person for all matters relating to these programmes.
- London Business School Programme – Co-ordinate the application process for the Citi sponsored London Business School Master in Finance Programme, liaise with applicants and school as well as relevant internal departments. Negotiate costs with LBS, present in RSC to seek approval, co-ordinate LBS presentation for promoted associates and application process.
- Volunteering Programmes – Co-ordinate the logistics of our Volunteering Africa Programme.
- Supporting the Programme Management Team and Chief of Staff in a delivery of wider development initiatives as required, including the Junior and Analyst Performance Review Processes, Mentoring Programmes, and VP-Director Career Monitoring.
