This role serves as an introduction to Commercial Finance and the role of business partnering. The role will support the Senior Commercial Analyst for Cosmetics and Fragrance, developing strong and effective working relationships in order to provide insight, analysis and support to the categories enabling the business to deliver company targets and profitability. This role will develop specifically as the finance business partner to the Convenience commercial team.


A typical day in this role includes:
•To support the Senior Commercial Analyst as the business partners to the Commercial Beauty team, providing insight, analysis and support across all levels of the business. To manage, where appropriate, all relevant financial processes enabling the company to achieve supplier income and financial targets
•To work alongside the Senior Commercial Analyst as the finance support for all aspects of stock – understanding the existing processes and developing tools, reports and analysis to enable the business to manage all areas of stock more efficiently and strategically
•To be the star buy (and other short burst promotions) expert within the Commercial Finance team - coordinating the process working closely with the commercial buyers, store operations and supply chain; identifying future opportunities through process improvement and insight
•To support the Senior Commercial Analyst in analysing and providing insight on forward looking strategic initiatives such as store trials and customer initiatives
•To produce business reports both internally and externally to the parent company, and to identify and deliver developments in reporting, system use and processes ensuring they deliver robust business information in an efficient manner
•To work closely with all members of the Commercial Finance team to gain a full understanding of the function of CF within a retail environment
•To attend regular Commercial meetings as appropriate to gain a more thorough understanding of the commercial environment

What you’ll need:
•Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or intention to study
•Strong Excel skills and ability to master technical skills quickly
•Retail/FMCG experience from medium or large company preferred
•Commercial awareness
