This is a short-term entry-level Accountant role based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Accountant will be responsible for data entry, financial statement review, and Excel spreadsheet creation and manipulation. They will report to the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities

- Data entry

- Carrying out other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned

- Analyzing and adjusting account discrepancies

- Helping with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits

- Assisting with full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

- Prepare monthly journal entries

- Reconciling and leveling general ledger accounts

Requirements

A Successful Candidate Will Have:

- Required: 2+ years of accounting experience

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

- Bank reconciliations experience preferred

- Enter Vendor Invoices experience preferred

- Proficiency in account reconciliation

- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks

- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

- High-level understanding of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred

- AA degree or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred

- Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
