Java Software Engineer – Future Insights Money Management

Job Description
As a Java Engineer within the Retail Banking Engagement lab, you’ll be expected to work as part of an agile team to design and implement technical solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside Product Owners to shape, design and implement our new future insights journey.
The role is based in the City of London (near Bank / Moorgate / Barbican / St Pauls) however in line with government advice the team is currently working from home full time. We issue new joiners a high spec laptop with local admin rights. The team use Git to manage the majority of the source code, and SonarQube to help monitor code quality. Jira and Confluence are used heavily for task management and documentation.
What specifically will I focus on in this role?
Develop server side code following best practices engineering principles, address security vulnerabilities if any, own delivery of work through route-to-live onto various testing environments Being part of an Agile team, collaborate to design better user experiences for our customers by delivery high quality software Tackle complex technical issues with minimal supervision Identify inefficiencies within our current process/practices and propose and drive appropriate improvement
