Asset Management is a critical foundation to the way we operate and underpins everything we do for our customers. The objective of asset management is to give a real-time and accurate view of assets/configuration items, creating a repository that is up to date and accurate to aid decision making, incident management and ensure compliance with regulations, policies and contractual obligations.

The IT Asset Manager plans and manages the full lifecycle of IT Assets to help GSS maximise value, control costs, manage risks, meet regulatory & contractual requirements and to support decision making surrounding the purchasing, reuse, retirement and disposal of assets.

What you’ll do:

Be responsible for all aspects of IT Asset Management for GSS including hardware, software, licenses and configuration items

Define the asset management strategy; Executing asset management policy and processes and ensuring these are fit-for-purpose

Deliver the rollout plan for expanding the scope of asset management to include new asset types

Ensure all asset information in accurately recorded in line with regulatory & contractual obligations

Coordinate and overseeall asset items within the business

Ensure the data quality in the asset repository is accurate and up to date by defining a virtual and physical audit programme

Direct and schedule audits; Ensuring that any corrective action identified by audits is carried out

Monitor the effectiveness of asset management to identify areas of weakness and drive improvements into the tooling and processes

Assess the state of all GSS assets to ensure items are patched, covered under support contracts, managing end of life, secure destruction

You’ll definitely:

Be fully conversant with tools & processes for Configuration and Asset management, including hardware, software and licenses

Be able to define and report Critical Success Factors (CSFs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relating to compliance and governance of the asset management process

Know how to recommend and delivering improvement to Asset Management processes & tooling

Have knowledge and experience of ISO9001 and ISO55001 standards, working in an ITIL conformant organisation

Be an excellent communication to promote awareness and adoption of asset management across GSS

You might even:

Have previous experience of rolling out new asset management systems across business areas 

Be able to deliver business change initiatives at an organisational level

Ensure that all colleagues have the required technical and business understanding, knowledge and training in asset management, and are aware of their role in the process

Have the ability to interact successfully at all levels of the organisation
