The IP Network Architect will lead the evolution of Sky’s core and metro IP networks. This is a great opportunity to drive our strategy for adoption of 400Gbps transport and reshape our network to improve the reliability of our network services.

What you’ll do:

• Define and detail the IP network architecture for Sky Broadband and Talk services
• Develop and assess business cases for network investments
• Prepare and evaluate tenders for equipment and network services (RFI / RFP)
• Manage contracts with our equipment and wholesale network services suppliers
• Coordinate design and operations teams as they deliver network projects
• Work with network planning teams to optimise network topology and resilience

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to communicate effectively with both senior business leaders and engineering teams
• In-depth understanding of ISP service architecture including metro aggregation, broadband subscriber session management, IPv6 transition, telco cloud, DWDM transport, content delivery and internet peering
• Knowledge of technology futures through engagement in standards bodies and industry forums e.g. Broadband Forum, IETF, RIPE
• Experience working with major telecoms equipment vendors including Cisco, Nokia and Infinera
