We're looking for an IOC Engineer to join our recently formed function.
Keeping our network and systems running is key to our business and, of course, our customers.
Our vision is to provide simple, affordable, reliable and fair connectivity for everyone, and to enable us to do this, we'll need you to be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our network and IT infrastructure.
You will carry out scheduled checks, investigate and act upon alarms and reports of service disruption ensuring that events are logged, tracked and resolved in line with incident management processes.
You'll carry out agreed maintenance and fault fixes, escalating unresolved issues where appropriate.

You'll also use your experience to investigate the root cause of incidents to ensure they don't happen again, and you'll recognise the importance of communicating progress and next steps to stakeholders.

This isn't a pure reactive role, however. You'll also assist with the development of standards, and apply these to track, monitor, report, resolve any issues that may arise.

Please note: This role is part of a 24/7 rota, but comes with shift allowance on top of your basic salary

How will I add value in this role?
You’ll get the opportunity to work with new and legacy industry network monitoring and management tools to detect and diagnose incidences, and to expand your knowledge of the whole IOC and drive innovation.
You’ll engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders, from our system engineers and support staff to our multi-vendors and external partners, to ensure minimum disruption and downtime on the network.
You’ll use management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics.
You’ll contribute to the maintenance, installation, and problem resolution.
You’ll facilitate recovery, following resolution of incidents.
You’ll document and close resolved incidents according to agreed standards and procedures.
You’ll contribute to the creation of support documentation.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of network & IT systems by adherence to the company's Information Security policies and procedures.

What you'll need to be successful:
You'll have previous experience of working in a Network Operations or IT Operations function, using management tools to monitor, analyse and resolve issues as they arise.

A Juniper (JNCIA) or Cisco (CCNA) qualification would be ideal

You'll be able to demonstrate your approach to troubleshooting systems or IP network incidents.
If you have voice, transmission or broadcast experience, then that would be an added bonus
