Summary of Role
Raytheon UK is seeking a capable and experienced Programme Manager for a significant investment and change programme the company will be executing over the next 2-3 years. While specific details of the programme are currently subject to protective marking and cannot be disclosed in this specification, it is a strategic change programme which will form a key part of our long-term growth plans. The successful candidate will manage resources across all functions and significant subcontracted work elements necessary to deliver the programme. The Programme Manager will be line managed within the Core PMX team and will report to a steering group made up of our senior leadership team. The Programme Manager will be accountable for meeting delivery commitments to schedule, compliance and cost with a high degree of exposure, commensurate to the importance of this investment.
Main Duties
- Assure the programme, is organised and executing effectively to meet commitments to the company.
- Provide leadership to cross-functional programme teams and IPTs engaged in programme planning and execution.
- Implement PMX best practice and manage by example to instil flawless programme execution behaviours and processes
- Conduct a regular tempo of downwards and upwards governance for the programme.
- Sustain collaborative relationships with peers across Raytheon consistent with the programme’s shared vision.
- Act as a full member of the Core PMX functional team.
- Act as an experienced practitioner of Programme Execution , supporting and mentoring less experienced staff.
- Actively contribute to the development of Knowledge and Skills across the Raytheon UK PMX function.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Relevant, recent demonstrable experience of successful programme execution in a highly regulated and/or controlled environment
- Demonstrate and advocate HPC (High Performing Culture) behaviours
- A self-starting and capable manager, able to effect change through the matrix organisation, even where direct hierarchical control does not exist
- Supportive, with the character to navigate sensitive and pressurised situations to overcome delivery challenges
- Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding
- Drive to create change and continuously improve performance
- Creative and open to innovation in order to solve problems
- 8 or more years of relevant industrial experience
Desirable:
- Expert knowledge of Raytheon IPDS and other relevant company and industry standards, policies and practices
- Degree qualified in a technical or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience
