About the team
The inventory team is responsible for the stock management of over 22,000 titles. The key role of the team is to ensure that the right amount of stock is in the right place at the right time, working within financial targets to minimize wastage and maximize cash flow.
About the job
As our Inventory Controller, you are responsible for an allocated list of titles and will work with business owners to ensure that customer stock availability is maintained. You will work with all areas of the business to: produce information on critical titles, supply forecasts, organize the shipment of stock and liaise with the Distribution Centre regarding promotional and pack assembly planning.
This is a busy and varied role in an exciting environment. Inventory liaise closely with all parts of the business, consequently this is a department where one can gain a real overview of how the company works, from conception of the product through to it being delivered to the customer. The ability to be able to take responsibility and make decisions is an essential skill requirement for this post.
Your key responsibilities
To work towards achieving stock targets.
To produce reporting.
To organize the shipment of products.
To schedule and monitor ancillary works (promotions and pack make up) with the distribution centre.
To work with production to ensure the smooth through flow of work orders.
To work with demand planners on forecasting.
Qualifications
About you
Numerate and articulate.
Preferably educated to A level standard with good passes in Maths and English at GCSE, or equivalent.
Intermediate level Excel.
Familiarity data warehouse packages
Working knowledge of the business would be advantageous
And you will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
Ability to prioritise workloads.
Organised and methodical, with particular regard to collating and recording data and statistics.
Confidence to liaise at all levels.
Be the kind of person who can spot a potential issue.
