Internal Communications Manager (Colleague Experience) – London / Hybrid working – Attractive Salary and Benefits
Do you thrive on being able to work autonomously within an inclusive, agile and state of the art working environment?
Are you the creative type that tends not to stand still, and wants to challenge conventions?
Want to work for a people focussed business (emphasis on the fact we want people people)?
If so, BT are looking for someone to ensure we stand out as the best place to work. Reach out to daen.fox@bt.com for a confidential chat if you have any questions or apply today!
The experience we all have when we come to work can make or break how we feel on a day-to-day basis. It doesn’t just impact how we feel about our jobs but our lives as a whole, making it one of the most important things we can influence in internal communications.
Sitting in the colleague experience communications team, you’ll work super closely with the principal of colleague experience communications, and three other managers to set out and shape the experience we want to give everyone who works here, through the communications and activities we create.
What’s in it for you? What are the benefits?
At BT, we entertain, educate and empower millions of people every single day. We’re a brand built on connecting people – whether that’s friends, family, businesses or communities. Working here, you’ll receive an attractive salary and a range of competitive benefits, but – more than that – you’ll be joining an ambitious organisation with a culture of togetherness, collaboration and inclusivity. Benefits of working for BT include:
True autonomy in your role partnering with senior leaders as they embark on transformation change and exciting people initiatives
10% on target bonus
25 days’ annual leave (not including bank holidays)
Pension scheme - you contribute 5%, BT contributes 10%
Discounted BT broadband and BT Sport, BT TV and Mobile
Share option schemes
Season ticket loan and cycle to work schemes and many more flexible benefits to fit around you
What will the role involve as our Internal Communications Manager?
You’ll be up for challenging the status quo, keen to find new ways of doing things and not afraid to speak out when you see or experience something that flies in the face of what we’re committing to.
You’ll be a brilliant team player, happy to work on a project-by-project basis, rather than being pigeon-holed to a specific remit and you’ll be up for mucking in whenever needed to get a job done, proactively offering your support to your team mates.
And you’ll build a great network around internal comms and the wider business - especially in the units - working with them to make sure that whatever we have planned works for them, and willing to adapt and flex whenever it doesn’t (within reason).
Writing and creativity will be in your blood – cutting through corporate jargon and policy and process to make sure that whatever we do, it ties up to the colleague experience principles we’ve set so we can do right by our colleagues every time.
In a nutshell, you’ll be a creative, challenger, writer, ideas sponge and team player, who’s passionate about making stuff as brilliant as possible for our colleagues, all 100,000 of them.
What are we looking for in our Internal Communications Manager? You may have a variety of the below;
Unbridled passion for colleague experience!
Creative thinking and true initiative – always looking for new and fresh ideas to improve internal comms activities and drive advocacy
Proven ability to design and deliver strategic communications plans across multiple channels and audiences
Excellent stakeholder management, at all levels
Ability to break down complicated, technical and corporate speak into interesting and engaging communications that showcase our commitment to treating colleagues like adults that we like
Excellent multi-tasker, able to devise and execute communications for a mix of colleague experience programme(s)
Who are the Internal Communications division?
With so much going on, our role in internal communications has never been more important. Our mission is to help everyone
in the business understand what we’re doing and where we’re going; to create a community of 100,000 advocates working for one company with a shared vision and purpose.
